Water
First Thing about Water
Water is important to human life. The primary importance is to sustain life. It is colourless, without smell, without sediments, without taste, and soothing to touch and taste. Water is usually in liquid form, but it can also have a solid form (ice) and vaporous form (water vapour). Water can be a friend or an enemy for us.
Water as a Friend
In domestic uses, water is used to cook our meat and vegetables, make our soups and broths, help in washing ourselves, our vegetables and fruits, our pets, our utensils, our house, our equipment.
In social, health, and commercial uses, water is used to water our gardens, fields and parks, wash our drains and drainage systems, provide us with a versatile solvent, help to make our beverages, mixture and medicines, help to clean our factories and machinery.
The other essential function of water is to put out fires, clear the air and channels of pollutants.
Water Bodies
Water is in liquid form, so it need a place to fill it in.
As the lakes and rivers, water adds the beauty of the place, enables man to move into areas that are otherwise difficult to access, provides man with a supply of food and minerals, and if the water still clean, it can be used for washing ourselves.
As seas and oceans, water provides man with a means of communication for pleasure or business and trade, has a large supply of food and minerals which man can use, regulates a moist atmosphere for living creatures.
Water as the Enemy
Water can erode the land, damage ports and coastal settlements, flood and fields and residential or industrial areas
Polluted water can injure the health and survival of living creatures, spread water-born diseases
rapidly.
Water can also drown animals, birds, and even people
A Superior Natural Element
Water can be man’s best friend, but, not any man-designed safeguard or force can ever seek to enslave it because it is one of Nature’s superior elements. Water is a superior natural elements because it can move the watermill to produce electricity, as transportation from one country to another country.
If we use the water wisely and protect our environments, surely the negative side of water can be reduced.
Fire
In china, some people had believed for thousand years that fire is one of the four elements that are the most important in this world. Folks in china often hold some rituals to honor fire and its ability to destroy, and also to bring life.
Sometimes, people think that fire is a bad thing. This thought exists because many disasters are caused by fire. But, fire isn’t useless at all. It’s useful instead. And, actually, without this element we can’t survive in this world. Fire can be our friend, but also can be our enemy, according to how we use it.
Fire, is useful in our kitchen. Without fire, our mother can’t cook meals. We’ll just eat vegetables, fruit, and raw meat. Besides, sun, our source of life, is an enormous fire ball. And we know that sun is very important for photosynthesis that exhales oxygen for us to breath. It means that fire, whether we want or not, is very important to us, human being, and every living things in this world. Can you imagine what would be happened if there’s no fire in our life? There will be no life in this world. What a pity!
Even though fire can be friend, but it can be a dangerous enemy if we can’t use it wisely. For example, house fires, that mostly caused by human’s carelessness and kill many people. But human often think that fire is the cause. They do not even think how can fire burn the house. it’s human who always carelessly invite it to come . Human often forget to turn off their stove, or throw cigarette stub not in the place it supposed to be. The other example, volcano eruption. It’s a natural disaster that can’t be avoided by human being. And also killed thousand people in a year. But, there’s a positive thing. The volcanic ash breaks down quickly in soil and the soil becomes fertile enough for farming.
In every negative sides, there are positive things that sometimes, we didn’t realize. So, however, fire can be human’s best friend. No one can enslave it, because it is one of nature’s superior elements. Every living creature must stand before it as a submissive friend, never in fearsome challenge..=)

LUTUNG KASARUNG
Long long ago there was a fair and wise king.His name is Prabu Tapa Agung.He has 7 daughters.Their names are Purbararang, Purbadewata, Purbaendah, Purbakancana, Purbamanik, Purbaleuih, and Purbasari. Purbararang was already engaged to Raden Indrajaya. Prabu Tapa Agung can not entrust the kingdom to Purbararang and Indrajaya. Prabu Tapa Agung felt that Purbararang and Indrajaya don’t match to be a Kingdom leader. Thinking of it, Prabu Tapa Agung and his wife felt sad. Prabu Tapa Agung worry was known by Sunan Ambu residing in Kahyangan. One night, Prabu Tapa Agung was dreaming. In the dream , Sunan Ambu said”Oh the good king,don’t worry.This is a time for break. Give your position to Purbasari”.
Next day, Prabu Tapa Agung ordered the same thing as Sunan Ambu commands. News was received happily by many people in the kingdom, except Purbararang and Raden Indrajaya. A day after their mother and father was not in the kingdom, Purbararng with Raden Indrajaya’s help, gave off black substance made from plants to the face and body of Purbasari. Consequently Purbasari’s whole body became black and Pasir Batang people does not recognize her anymore. That's why there was no one helped Purbasari when she escaped from the palace. Uwak Batara was told to bring Purbasari to the woods. But on the arrival in the woods, Uwak Batara Lengser make a strong hut for Purbasari.
For days, Sunan Ambu was anxious because his son Guruminda did not appear. Then Sunan Ambu turn to people in Kahyangan to find his son. Not long, later his maid came and reported that Guruminda was in the Park of Kahyangan. Guruminda seemed daydreaming. Sunan Ambu ask his maid to call Guruminda.
Then Sunan Ambu said again” Mother knew, now you're a teenager. Age seventeen. Is there an angel who pulled your heart. Say to my mother who she was. Later I'll introduce you to her.” But Guruminda remain silent.
Then Guruminda reply” I do not want to be introduced with any angel but she’s beautiful like you.
She also said, "Guruminda, the girl similar to mother was not in Buana She was in the Middle Panca Buana. Go there. But don’t be Guruminda. You must be disguised as fox or monkey."
Guruminda felt sad after realizing that he had turned into monkey.He went to Buana with his hope that he will meet the girl similar to his mother. When he saw the forest in the earth, he jumped to it. Guruminda became a leader of monkeys in the forest .
In Buana, Purbarang queen made a ceremony. In the ceremony she needed an animal for sacrifice. Ratu Purbararang called Aki Penyumpit. She said “Catch the animal for sacrifice , If you don’t get one, you will be the sacrifice. In the forest Aki penyumpit met Lutung Kasarung. Lutung Kasarung said”Don’t kill me because I will not bothered you. I come here because I see you very sad.”Then Lutung said again ”Why are you sad?”. Finally Aki Penyumpit told Lutung what he felt. ”Take me to kingdom” said Lutung Kasarung. In the Kingdom Lutung was tied. But in the Kingdom Lutung twisted when he will be burnt.Then he devastated everything.
In the kingdom there was a wise man. He said to Lutung ”Come here monkey, do not be naughty and frighten people, you're a good monkey. Then Lutung was taken to the forest. In the Forest Uwak Batara introduced Lutung to Purbasari. Lutung and Purbasari wanted to be close friends. Then Lutung prayed to his mother. He ask his mother to cure Purbasari. Purbararang was angry when she heard that Purbasari recovered. Purbararang challenge Purbasari. Purbasari should make huma in 1 day. Lutung helped Purbasari. He prayed to his mother to make the huma. The next day when sun rises, Purbararang went to the forest, she was shocked because Purbasari has made the Huma. Purbararang did not give up, she challenged Purbasari again. She challenged who has the longest hair. But Purbasari turned to be the one with the longest hair. Purbararang challenged who has the most handsome husband. At that time Lutung changed to be a handsome man. At last the winner is Purbasari. She became leaders of the kingdom with her husband. Purabararang and her husband were punished.

Malin Kundang
Malin Kundang
Malin Kundang is a smart boy but a little naughty. He often chases chicken and hits them with a broom. One day, when Malin Kundang was chasing chicken, she tripped over a stone and injured his right arm. The wound became scar and can not be removed. Feeling sorry for his mother who threw the bones for a living to raise him, Malin decided to go wandering to become rich. And after he rich, he promised to his mother that he must go home someday.
Malin Kundang’s mother disagree, remembering her husband also never returned after go wandering. But finally, Malin Kundang’s mother approved him to go wandering with a merchant ship. During the time he stayed inside the ship, he also learned more about shipping.
In the middle of the sea, suddenly, Malin Kundang’s ship was attacked by pirates. All merchandise traders who were on the ship were killed by the pirates. Even most of the crew and people on board were killed by the pirates. Malin Kundang was lucky, he could hide in a small space enclosed by the timber so he was not killed by the pirates.
Malin Kundang’s ship was floating on the sea, until finally the ship stranded on a beach. With the remaining force, Malin Kundang walked towards the nearest village from the beach. The village Malin found was very fertile. With his perseverance in working, over time Malin had become a wealthy man. He has many merchant ship with the crew of more than 100 people. After becoming rich, Malin Kundang married a beautiful girl.
The news about Malin Kundang getting rich and marrying a beautiful girl, have been heard by his mother. His mother was grateful and happy. Since that, Malin Kundang’s mother always waited for her son to return home.
Not long after being married, he and his wife sailed with a lot of crew to his hometown. Malin Kundang’s mother, who saw the arrival of the ship, realized there are two people who were standing on the ship. She’s sure they are her son and her daughter in law.
Malin Kundang’s mother walked toward the ship. Once close enough, his mother saw the right arm of the man in the ship have a scar. Then, he was increasingly convinced that it was his son. Then, Malin Kundang’s mother hugged her son. But, Malin Kundang did not admit that she was her mother because he was ashamed to his wife and his crew.
Because her son did not want to admit her as his mother, she was angry and condemned her son to a stone. Until now, Malin Kundang’s stone can still be found in Padang, West Sumatra.

The Girl I met in a Cafeteria
When I was on a holiday, my mom asked me to do some outdoor activities because she was bored to see me playing computer all the time. I tried to look for something interesting. I found nothing but an offer to join a science club. But the fee was very expensive. Because of that, I went to a cafetaria to think about joining that science club twice (or may be more).
When I arrived there I was very hungry. I wanted to order a cup of coffee while thinking of that club. And then, something happened. I met a girl and I recognised her as one of my friends five years ago. But, when I looked her clothes, I knew that something terrible had made her become a beggar. What made me sadder was that she was the one who always helped me when I got a bad mark on math, and other subject that need calculations.
Without any doubt, I said, “Miss, please have a seat.”
She was very surprised with my invitation, looked like she had forgotten me. With a doubt, she sat beside me.
Then I said again,”Do you know me?” She answered it with an innocent face, I was sure that means “no”.
“Didn’t you remember that five years ago you always helped a girl who was very nerd and always got a bad mark on math?” I said, tried to make her remember, even for just a second.
“Five years ago? Umm.. I don’t remember, sorry,” said her with an honest face.
I gave her time to think about that, while I started to lost hope. May be she’s not her, I thought.
“Oh. I know! I know her! Who always got bad mark, nerd, very shy.. Is that you?” she said with brightness on her face.
“Yeah.. I knew that your memory isn’t bad at all. What happened? Why do you become like this?” I asked.
“After I finished my junior high school, my parents died because of a plane’s accident. I have no family out there and no one wanted to adopt me. I just can beg for the other’s kindness,” answered her. A drop of tear fell in her beauty face when she told the story. What an unbelievable story.
“I will help you. I’ll do anything as long as I can.”
“Thank you, but you should’nt have to..”
“But I want to help you. You just have to wait in this cafetaria tomorrow. I’ll come here again with some useful information for you,” said me without a doubt. “Before that..this..my money..for you. I think you’ll need it more than I need.
“Thanks. I don’t know how to pay back your kindness,” she said hopefully.
“Okay, now I have to go home. See you tomorrow,” I said, then I went home.
I knew that the money that I would use to eat for a day, may be she could make it for a week. I went home, with a cool face. But in my deepest heart, I was veerrryyyy hungry and had to come home as fast as possible!! Hopefully, she didn’t know anything about that.

The Girl I Met in a Cafeteria
I’m so depressed. A lot of homework that my demon teacher gave me has not done yet. Plus, I have a lot of exams that, I think, will kill me. I am just stressed and I want to look for some oxygen out of that crazy world. The first place that come to my mind is that cafeteria, hospital cafeteria. Why I choose hospital? I don’t know too but a strong feeling take me there.
I bring my wallet with much money to the cafeteria. I just want to eat some meckerel soup or tendon to fresh my mind from that crazy thing. When I just want to order the menu, a beggar is being kicked out from the cafeteria. Many people is insulting her. I feel sorry to her and walk to her. I can’t believe it! I don’t know what happen with my eyes! I’m sure that she is my best friend when I was in elementary school. Yeah, I just lost contact with her.
I grab her wrist and take her to a seat. I don’t know what I should say to her. I recognize her as my best friend but she didn’t recognize me.
“ Who are you?”, she ask me something that I don’t want to hear.
“ I’m a depressed person”, I say this without thinking first.
“ I just have to do some homework that my devil teacher give me” I finally say
Many people insult me and her. But, I don’t care, she is my best friend right? I can see from her face that she is afraid of that situation. I just say “ Its okay”
To make sure that she is my friend, I ask her “Do you remember something in this cafeteria?” the answer is “Um.. When I was in elementary school, when I went to buy some food, my best friend do dine and dash, finally I’m the one that pay for many expensive food.” She say that. Finally she say that! That embarassing moment that I do.
“oh.. your friend is so rude, yea?” “Maybe..” she say with sad face
“Do you know why I become a beggar? My mother die because of that accident, when I pay for the food, someone took my wallet. All my money is there, the money I should buy my mother medicine, but It’s all gone” she is crying now.
“I’m so sad, that’s all my fault .. I am the worst!” I told myself
“Never mind about that miss, you are so lucky, you have parents, money, house, and you can go to school. You have never changed from the time you were in elementary school”
WHAAAAAT??????? So, She recognise ME !!? I’m so sad and pull her wrist, gave all of my money to her and run away from the cafeteria. I’m glad to meet her but I’m sad that she recognised me. I feel sorry to her and I promise to myself not to do “dine and dash” again
I’m so depressed. A lot of homework that my demon teacher gave me has not done yet. Plus, I have a lot of exams that, I think, will kill me. I am just stressed and I want to look for some oxygen out of that crazy world. The first place that come to my mind is that cafeteria, hospital cafeteria. Why I choose hospital? I don’t know too but a strong feeling take me there.
I bring my wallet with much money to the cafeteria. I just want to eat some meckerel soup or tendon to fresh my mind from that crazy thing. When I just want to order the menu, a beggar is being kicked out from the cafeteria. Many people is insulting her. I feel sorry to her and walk to her. I can’t believe it! I don’t know what happen with my eyes! I’m sure that she is my best friend when I was in elementary school. Yeah, I just lost contact with her.
I grab her wrist and take her to a seat. I don’t know what I should say to her. I recognize her as my best friend but she didn’t recognize me.
“ Who are you?”, she ask me something that I don’t want to hear.
“ I’m a depressed person”, I say this without thinking first.
“ I just have to do some homework that my devil teacher give me” I finally say

Bank robbers was nabbed
Last night , there was a robbery in People’s Bank at Raffles Place by two foreigners. The robbers broke into a bank and held bank officers at gunpoint, and then tried to escape in a getaway car with three million dollars . Thanks to quick thinking by a passer-by who called the police officer, so the robbers were arrested
When a bank officer Ms Tara Khan was asked about the characteristics of the robbers, she answered “All the robbers use masks, I don’t know how do they look like“. She also said that she had not pressed the alarm button , because she was scared.
When a police officer Sergeant Abdul Hamid was asked about , how did he know the characteristics of the robbers, he answered “ I know the characteristics of the robbers from Mr. Sim Hng Khiaw “ .
Beside giving the characteristic of the robber , Mr. Sim Hng Khiaw also gave the license plate number of the robber. That made easier for the police officer to recognize the getaway car.
The police officer was very thankful to Mr.Sim Hng Khiaw who had given many informations to the police officer.

Mr.Sim Hng Khiaw is a passer by who notified the police and provided the license plate number of v getaway car. He knew the characteristic of the car that is a black audy. He saw 3 people in the car. He told that one of them is about 2 meters tall.

The Thief Lord
“The Thief Lord” by Cornelia Funke is a story about two orphan boys named Prosper and Boniface, a.k.a. Bo. We read about their adventure with a group of thieves and their leader named The Thief Lord that usually mysterious.
After their mom died, Bo and Prosper escape from their terrible aunt and go to Venice. Knowing about their plan, their aunt go to Venice with her husband and ask for a detective’s help. Prosper and Bo meet some new friends, from a group of little thieves that live in an old building. From Barbarossa, they meet an old man that ask The Thief Lord to steal something that means very special for him, a wooden wing. From this mission, the group of the thieves, including Prosper and Bo, know about The Thief Lord’s dark secret. Magical things happen when they succeed to steal the wing, bring it to the old man, and sneaking to his island named Isola Segreta.

Two’s A crowd is a novel based on television series, Two of a Kind. This novel is adapted by Judy Kastschke. The story is about twin sisters named Mary-Kate and Ashley.
Mary-Kate is mad of sports and Ashley is crazy about Ballet. When Carrie has 2 tickets for a dance show, Mary-Kate doesn’t want to go and she gives it to Nicole, who was a fan of the dance company in the dance show. But, Mary-Kate doesn’t think that she just starts a big problem. Since Ashley and Nicole watch the show, they become best friend. They spend their whole time together and Mary-Kate feels left out. And then she has an crazy idea. Ooops I’ve gone too far. If you want to know, well, just read it.
The book tell us it’s not good to have a fight with your brother or sister. It just makes you feel lonely and sorry.
This book is interesting enough for me. The book is filled with craziness of the twins. It’s fun to read the book until the end. I think many children will enjoy this book.
